History of Dependable
Dependable Break Room Solutions began in 1979 when it was launched by the parents of Mark Oliver, Marvin & Marge Oliver. Originally known as Dependable Vending, the company provided vending machines to local businesses in the Inland Empire. As a military family, Mark’s parents were called overseas, and Mark stepped in to run the business. Recognizing its potential, he formally incorporated the company and began expanding its services.
As the business grew, Grandma Marge saw additional opportunities in Coffee & Water. Mark’s sister & brother Law, Jey & Marcia Sapp, took on the coffee and water side, creating Dependable Coffee and Water, while Mark continued to build out the vending operations under Dependable Vending.
Under the leadership of Zachary Oliver, Mark and Carol Oliver’s son, and the current owner, Dependable has continued to evolve. With a focus on providing comprehensive break room services from a single provider, the company has added offerings such as micro markets, pantry service, water filtration systems, office coffee, and ice machine rentals.
To reflect this broader service model, the company adopted the name Dependable Break Room Solutions. The updated branding signals its mission to be a complete provider for modern break room needs.
Today, Dependable Break Room Solutions serves a wide range of facilities — including offices, hospitals, warehouses, call centers, and schools — across Southern California. Still family-owned and operated, the company is known for its customer-first approach, quality service, and tenured dependable support.

Dependable Vending, Inc. was incorporated, establishing its roots as a family-owned and operated business in Upland, California. By this time Mark & Carol Oliver had taken over servicing vending machines from Marge & Marvin Oliver.

Dependable Coffee & Water moves operations into Dependable Vending, Inc previous facility in Upland.
Introduced cashless payment technology onto equipment
Implemented remote monitoring technology into all of our equipment

Celebrating over 40 years of family ownership and operation, Dependable Break Room Solutions was featured in Vending Market Watch’s article “Dependable Vending: More Than Just a Name,” highlighting its service expansion, company culture, and response to COVID-19.
